FAQ

Does everyone always take something home from a workshop?

Yes! A take-home activity is part of every workshop program. Most of the time, the item is built during the workshop. In some workshops, the activity requires no assembly and will be given to the children at the end of the workshop.

+

How long in advance do I need to book?

We recommend 4-6 weeks before your event date. June is always very busy with end of year events, so plan accordingly.

+

Can we group classes together?

Our programs are designed for a classroom sized group. Adding additional children means that equipment needs to be shared between more kids and impacts the hands-on nature of the program. We try to be flexible when accommodating split grades, but there is a limit. Talk to us when booking.

+

What is the local area? What about this travel charge?

Driving to locations within 20km is included in the base price, so schools in St Catharines/Niagara Falls/Beamsville/Welland area do not have to worry about a travel charge. Farther away locations are charged for the additional distance based on prevailing gas prices.

Happy Customers

Here's what teachers have to say about our workshops!

Keep involving kids in your demonstrations, they love being involved in your experiments! Students loved receiving their slime at the end of the demonstration. Keep the small group experiments. Students were very excited to do their own experiment, just like a scientist. The Mad Scientist was an excellent presenter! Students really enjoy her presentations.

It was great. I wouldn't change anything. We were surprised at how well our ELKP students were engaged for the time that they were. It says a lot about the Mad Scientists and the program that they ran. They had the perfect amount of energy, shared the right amount of knowledge and were just so excited about what they were sharing that it rubbed off on our students. Thank you SO much!

The children absolutely loved the Mad Scientist's enthusiasm! He kept the students engaged and laughing while learning! After he left, my students asked if we could try our own density experiment and build boats out of various materials in the classroom to see what materials float best! Thank you for inspiring this inquiry and for encouraging the students to observe with all of their senses!
